Yep! I've built three full keyboards, a numpad, and two of my own USB type C cables. All three boards were purchased as pcb + chassis kits, I chose the keys myself and then soldered everything together.

Not only had I never looked into how to build a keyboard before this endeavor, I also had almost no experience with soldering, and certainly had never soldered pcb connections before. Everything was new to me, all the way down to flashing the firmware on the keyboard to make sure the key layout was correct.
